 Welcome to Pack 543

Pack 543 has been serving the East Orange community for over 40 years. We are as proud of our long history as we are of our current group of Scouts and families. Throughout the history of the Pack we have received many awards and accommodations for the quality of our programs and BSA’s “Journey to Excellence” award program. The pack is active in the community, we participate in community service projects and we love to go on family camping trips all over California. Pack 543 is the “Pack of Adventure!”

We have been fortunate to welcome many new families this past year and continue to grow. The leadership of the pack is excited that these young boys have chosen Pack 543 to start their journey on the Cub Scout Trail.

I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet many of the new scouts and their families.  My name is Scott Smith and I'm the Cubmaster of Pack 543. Along with our Pack committee and Den Leaders it has been my honor to help lead Pack 543 and to see many Cub Scouts grow up and benefit from the Scouting experience. My son is Michael and he is now a Bear scout.

Cub Scouting relies on volunteers to be pack leaders. Volunteers come from all backgrounds and experiences. Plumbers, lawyers, homemakers, teachers, doctors, janitors, and scientists - people from just about every occupation imaginable are involved in leading youth to become responsible, caring, and competent citizens. They also quickly discover that Scout volunteering lets them learn new skills and build lifelong friendships while having fun.

Volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America is a way for adults to work with youth to build a better future for everyone. Besides giving valuable service to youth in their communities, volunteers find that they reap many personal benefits from being a leader in Cub Scouting

At Pack 543 there is the opportunity and need for adult volunteers to share their time and skills to help lead the Pack. No Experience Required! Training is available for all position both online and working with the Pack and District leaders. Please join our leadership team and keep Pack 543 strong!  If you are interested in helping out, please let me know.
